CEA | Softball Tournament

Holy Cow! It's back to school time already! Getting back to work is tough isn't it? To help bring some fun to our fall, Chandler Education Association is sponsoring the Play for our Schools Softball Tournament on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Snedigar Sports Complex. The tournament is open to members and non-members alike. Spouses and friends are invited as well; however, each team must be comprised of 25% CUSD employees and must be 50/50 men and women. It will be an 8-team, Double Elimination Tournament. Each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of two games. The tournament will follow ASA Rules.

To make the tournament more interesting, we are asking each team to play for a school in our district. The team should confer with their colleagues and administrator(s) to decide what that site could use their prize money for if their team wins. The prize levels are:

1st Prize	$500
2nd Prize	$350
3rd Prize	$200

The money must be used for the item(s) stated on the roster and must be educational or school supportive in nature.

The details and schedule for the day are as follows:

8:00 am	Warm up and seeding
8:30 am	First two games begin
9:00 am	Get Out the Vote Rally featuring AEA-supported political candidates (to be announced after the August primary election)

Games will be played throughout the day until the winning team prevails.
Top Dog Concession Stand open all day. Please consider purchasing food from our vendor as she is helping to pay for the prize money.
Various baskets and items will be available for raffle.
Cost is $150 per team. Maximum of 20 players per roster, fielding 10 players at a time.
Practices are yours to organize.
If your team doesn't buy t-shirts, please at least wear the same color for easier play.
The first 8 completed rosters received with full payment will participate in the tournament. Please download a roster form, fill it out, and send it with payment via in-district mail to Jackie Tambone at Hamilton Prep Academy. Checks only ... no cash please. An email from Jackie will confirm your team is in the tournament.

We are forming a committee of people wanting to help make this a successful and fun day. Please contact Jackie Tambone if you are interested in serving on the committee ... we don't anticipate it to be a lot of work.
